I was going to wait until I had some results for you all, concering the cancer scare going on in my family. Real results. I need to let you know now, though, because my testing is just getting started, it seems, and story updates will be scare for a while longer.
Unfortunately, I found out that though my mammogram was clear, my MRI was not. More than one cluster of abnormal cells was found on my MRI... not labeled as cancerous, but questionable. Doc says they may be benign or pre-cancerous. In light of this, I now have to undergo an ultrasound guided biopsy on the 3rd. If they can't find the clusters under ultrasound, I'll have to go back to do an MRI guided biopsy.
Even worse news is that my pap came back abnormal. They autmatically tested for HPV, since some types of it are linked to cervical cancer. I tested negative, thankfully, but doc thinks my PCOS might be the reason for the abnormal cells. In her words, if my ovarian cysts are shedding enough cells to make my pap come back abnormal, they need to be dealt with. As such, she's sending me to a specialist GYN for further testing.
Needless to say, I have several more tests, procedures, appointments and followups to come, and that's before I even get my gene screening test back in 3 weeks.
I know you guys understand, so I won't say 'please bear with me.' I'm so very thankful to have all of you, and I hope you know that. I'll update when I can, but I can't say when that will be.
Love you all,
Wiz
