Chapter 38: The True Sleep
BPOV:
I feel like I could almost sleep.... like really sleep.
I thought about that for a minute. I didn't think I could sleep anymore. I let it go for a few minutes until I yawned suddenly. My eyes went wide as I looked up at my mates.
"I thought... ahhh... that I couldn't... ahhh... sleep anymore," I yawned.
Jasper looked at Peter, then Peter looked at Char. Char looked back at Jasper, then Jasper said softly, "I don't know, Darlin'. Maybe you should ask your inner goddess?"
She did say I could always talk to her and she would answer my questions. I nodded my head before closing my eyes.
I looked deep in myself, then found her instantly. "Good evening, Goddess."
She wished me a good evening, too. I was still naked. She was, too. We both sat, knees touching in the lotus position.
"May I ask you a question?" She nodded, then motioned for me to proceed.
"I thought I couldn't really sleep anymore. Just before I found you, I was yawning like crazy, feeling as if I could sleep like I used to... really sleep, not my meditation sleep state. Why is that? Should I be worried?"
She smiled softly, then spoke, "There is no need to be alarmed, My Goddess. I did not think to warn you, because I did not anticipate that it would happen this soon.”
I nodded, understanding her reason for not mentioning it sooner, then she continued. “When you are fully, utterly satisfied by all of your mates sexually in one stretch, you will be able to sleep as you used to. It is harder to achieve than you think, and it is not something you should strive for, as it makes you vulnerable. This is why you have not only your mates, but the Denalis, Cullens, and wolves to protect you. You will need them all when you truly sleep, as you will be defenseless. Your powers will not work in your true sleep. Also, you will not be aware, like you are in your meditation sleep. You will fall asleep soon, so you must wash up and get to the main house. Take the wolves with you. Make sure no one leaves the house until you wake. All will be well, but they must be there for you in case a scout were to be checking. Have a good rest, My Goddess."
We stood together, then I said, "Thank you for the information, Goddess. I must be going. Good evening."
I opened my eyes, automatically hopping out of bed. On my way to the bathroom, I called to my mates. "We need to get washed up and take the wolves to the main house. My goddess told me what's happening. It would be better to explain it to everyone at the same time so I don't have to repeat myself. I'm fine, though, and it will happen again. Please, we need to hurry. I must be in the main house for this sleep.”
They rushed to get cleaned up and help me. I slipped on a backless sleep tank and capri set, grabbed morning clothes for tomorrow, then opened the bedroom door to call the wolves. "Jake? Come here, please."
He was at my side in wolf form in a split second. "We must go to the main house. All of us, you four included. I'll explain when we're all together... everything is okay, I just don't want to repeat myself a million times. We have to hurry, though. One of us will carry your clothes. Run in wolf form, then I'll have the family meet us out back. I'll explain then. Hurry."
Jasper picked me up as Char took my clothes. Peter grabbed the wolves' clothes on the way. I wrapped my legs around Jasper, curled into his chest, then we all met at the front of the cabin.
The wolves flanked us the whole way, and the family was waiting out back as we came up. Jasper sat us down with Peter and Char at our sides, so I turned in his lap to face everyone. It was like a signal, and they all sat down in the grass at once, facing us on the wide porch steps.
I yawned again, then spoke, "We didn't think I could really sleep again, so I spoke to my inner goddess. This is really private, but you all need to know. She told me she didn't think to tell me, because she didn't anticipating it happening this soon. Only when I'm completely utterly satisfied by all of my mates in one stretch, will I truly sleep again. She said it is harder than you think to achieve, and it's not something to strive for."
I looked at my mates to make that point clear before saying, "The reason why it's not something to strive for, is because when I truly sleep like I used to, I am totally defenseless."
I heard everyone gasp. "That is why we need to be at the main house with everyone when I do. The wolves and all of the family must stay at the house with my mates to protect me while I sleep. My powers... Ahh... sorry... powers won't work, nor will I be aware like in my meditation sleep state... Ahhh. Shit, we need to hurry. No one can leave the house. All of you must be on your guard while I sleep, in case a scout were to try gaining intel or something. Ahhh... the wolves will be on guard outside the house. I'm sorry we weren't forewarned, but she said it was hard to achieve. Esme? Do you have a spare room we could use?"
She stood up, nodding as I let out a really huge yawn. Jasper picked me up, then everyone but the wolves followed. Esme ushered us towards her and Carlisle's room. "You take our room to rest anytime you need to. Carlisle and I usually aren't in there much at this hour anyway. Sleep well, Dear. We have it taken care of."
She and Carlisle both kissed my temple, then Jasper took me to the bed. He laid in the center with me on his chest, as Char and Peter curled in next to us, touching any part of me they could reach. As soon as I felt the room and my mates were safe, I said softly, "I love y..."
I didn't get to finish my sentence, because I was out before I could.
JPOV:
It was exactly ten minutes from the time I felt her feeling tired, to the time she fell asleep. I got the safe feeling from her right before she tried to say she loved us. She must have felt that she and her mates were safe, so she could finally let go.
I heard Carlisle talking to Esme in her drawing room. He was wondering how long she had once she first started yawning. I whispered for Peter to go get Carlisle and Esme. They both came in a second after Peter opened the door. "Thank you for letting us have use of your bedroom. She first started feeling tired exactly ten minutes before she fell asleep. I think she forced that much. I saw her look around and feel safe, then she fell asleep mid sentence. I think she felt that she and her mates were safe, then she finally let go. It's instinct for her to always check on us, make sure it's safe for us. She doesn't like not being able to protect us."
Carlisle nodded, "This young beauty has had so much to deal with since our mistaken departure, hasn't she? We regret leaving so much... I wish we could talk to her, but I don't want her to feel forced. She has too much to deal with already."
I shook my head, "I don't feel animosity or any negative feeling, other than a small amount of hurt from her, when she is around the family. She's let the past go as much as possible without speaking to you all. The hurt won't fully go away until after she does, but there is too much going on right now for her to have that time. She will find each of you when she feels the need to speak to you. Please let her have what time she needs. She knows the effort you all are going to, trying to make things easier on her... and us for that matter."
Bella whimpered in her sleep then, causing everyone to look at me. "Shit, she's dreaming again."
I flooded the room with peace and love, then Bella calmed right back down. "I need to do that, otherwise the nightmare will become really bad. It's always the same one. Flashes of fiery red hair as she's running through the forest. It's how she connected everything. Seattle, James' death, revenge, all of it. What better way to get revenge for what you thought was your mate's death, than to build an army of newborns to go up against the talent cluster of a coven that killed him? She knows she'll have to go through the family to get to Bella. A mate for a mate, is what Bella kept saying."
They nodded. I continued, but changed the subject. "The four of us would like to talk to everyone to give an update on what the elders told her tonight. There are some changes she can make to her diet... some things she can change and add. We also spoke of the babies, so we would like to address that, too. Esme, can you make her up a blender full of a smoothie mixture to go with her breakfast? Coconut milk, some of the riper fruits, and a couple of the fresh mint sprigs? This is part of the diet changes. Also, she'll probably want a fillet or two of fish, since she didn't get that much today. Crush some of the mixed nuts, then crust the halibut with that. It'll be a nice treat for her... plus maybe a small portion of steamed sugar snap peas. I know we got a lot of them at the store. I think that should do."
Esme nodded, then spoke sincerely. "Anything I can do to help. Would you like me to get the pack's breakfast ready, too, so she won't have to fuss with it?"
Peter answered, "Thanks, Esme. That would be a great help. I know how grateful she was yesterday when she didn't have all that cookin' to do. The three of us are tapped into her feelin's through Jasper at all times, to be able to help her better. She knows this, of course, and it's saved critical time with her episodes."
Peter looked at me, then Char. When we both nodded, he said, "Speakin' of which. Her needs are startin' to show without episodes, now. She needed somethin' earlier tonight, but didn't think she could have it at the time, so she tried to make the need go away. It only made the need consume her, which forced her eyes to change for who it was related to. She was completely herself though. She wasn't in an episode, like with the bonfire at Sam's. She fought and said she knew she couldn't have it, that the need just had to go away. Said she wasn't havin' an episode, so she couldn't have what she needed right then. We got it all straightened out, but had to explain to her that no matter what she needs when, she'll get it, episode or not. It took a while to get her to calm down, but when she got what she needed, her eyes changed back. Please explain this to the others before she wakes, since it may happen when one of them are near her in the future. I doubt she'll want to talk about what happened."
Esme and Carlisle both nodded, then bent over to kiss Bella's temple. She smiled softly in her slumber, so I said, "Thank you again. She won't sleep well unless we're all here, but as soon as she's alert again, we'll be out. If anyone wants to come in, just have them be quiet, please. They can visit if they wish, just not all at the same time. I don't want too much going on around her right now. She needs her rest to stay peaceful."
They nodded before quietly exiting the room. Char and Peter were quiet for a few minutes, then Char said, "I know she likes this just about as much as I do. I can't stand the fact that she's totally defenseless right now. I know we can all protect her, but I'm used to her being aware now... used to her knowing everything happening around her. This is almost frightening compared to that."
I agreed fully, "I remember perfectly this state of sleep for her, but I feel the same way you do. All those powers, yet they're totally useless to her like this. We'll let what happens happen, but definitely no striving for her to be in this state again."
They both agreed with me, then we curled ourselves around her completely. She sighed in content as I traced her elements absent-mindedly.
About 30 minutes later, I heard Rose whisper through the closed door to see if she and Emmett could join us. Peter silently rose to let them in. He curled back around us as Rose and Emmett went to sit on the small love seat. She whispered very softly once they were seated, "How are all of you? I know this has to be tough. I can't imagine everything you have to think of on a daily basis."
Char whispered, "It's just hard seeing her like this after getting used to her going into her meditation state. We got used to that being her sleep... and now she isn't truly aware of us. She can't tell us she's okay. We can't keep the dreams away completely. Jasper tries to keep her sleep as peaceful as possible, but she still whimpers occasionally."
Rose scowled, then said, "Jazz, do you happen to send her confidence with the other emotions? Carlisle said you flooded the room with peace and love earlier."
I shook my head, "No. Tell me your thought process, and maybe it'll lead somewhere. I know you have something spinning in that brain of yours."
She smiled, "Yeah. If the dream is of Victoria and she's running scared, maybe it's a latent vision trying to break through. Maybe if you send her confidence, she could face it once and for all, to find out what she needs to know. You said her visions usually give her insight on what she needs to do, or what she needs to know for what's coming. Maybe this is the same thing, just buried too deep for her to access in her meditation state. Does that make sense?"
I nodded, then looked to Peter. He knew what I was asking, so he placed his hand on Isabella's spine. He closed his eyes to concentrate, "It'll work. She'll need a steady stream of confidence, love, and the feeling of our energies. She'll need to draw from us in the dream. We'll need to direct our energies toward her... our centers. Someone will need to bring us blood. Thermoses for you and donated for us. Quickly if possible."
He opened his eyes, looking directly at me. He looked like this really needed to happen... it was important. I looked to Rose and Emmett. "The wolves will know where on the property the deer are. Have them carry two to where you can drain them into thermoses. Get Carlisle to heat 6 bags of donated blood from the emergency stash in his office. Explain the situation to them together, so no time is wasted... and thank you, Rose. I wouldn't have thought of this. Please hurry."
They rushed out of the room silently, closing the door softly behind them. I could hear Rose call Carlisle to the back door, then Emmett call Jake. They explained everything quickly, then Jake rushed off to get the deer with Leah, while Carlisle went to the refrigerated safe in his office. He pulled 6 fresh bags from the safe, locked it back up, then went down to the microwave. He heated the blood before bringing it directly to us. I could hear Emmett and Rose each draining the deer for me.
Peter and Char took three bags of the donated blood a piece, poking a hole in the corner of the bags before drinking quickly. By the time they were poking into the last bag each, Rose came in with the thermoses. I drank one right away, then thanked her and drank the other. When we were done, Carlisle quickly disposed of the empty blood bags. Rose took the empty thermoses to clean. I told them both before they dashed out, that no one was to come in the room again until one of us came to get them.
They agreed, and when the door closed behind them, I looked to my sleeping mate. "Are we sure about this? She won't get hurt in her dream, will she?"
Peter promised, "She won't get hurt. She needs the energy from us to face what she needs to find out... to face Victoria in the dream. Victoria can't hurt her in there. She just doesn't have us in the dream with her. She doesn't have the energy to do it alone, but she can't draw from the elements in her dream. That's why we needed to feed... so she could get what she needed from us while we're wrapped around her tracing her elements. We'll entwine our fingers, then trace together. It's the best way. She needs to know, though. Rose is right about that."
I nodded and held my hand above our mate's elements. They entwined their fingers with mine, we all took a deep breath, then we started tracing. I flooded the room with a constant stream of confidence and love, then whispered, "Direct your energy to her mark." I pushed my energy mentally to her mark, feeling Peter and Char concentrating, too.
Soon, I felt a shift in Isabella's dream state. They both looked at me, so I nodded. We redoubled our efforts, and I felt her draw only a few moments later. It was like a slow leak in a faucet. She was drawing from Peter and Char, too. Her energy level was rising at a rapid rate... not just in her dream self, but in her actual sleeping self.
When she felt full, she automatically stopped drawing from us, then kissed our mental energy centers. I kept tabs on her emotions, along with the steady stream of love and confidence flowing through the room. My energy was about where it was before I fed now. I'm assuming Peter's and Char's was, too. She drained a lot from us.
That's why we had to feed. It surely would have triggered a need to feed if we hadn't fed beforehand.
I suddenly felt Bella's emotions shift as her confidence doubled.
She whispered, "Earth..." I felt the earth shift slightly around.
"Air..." The wind blew towards the house from all directions.
"Fire..." I instinctively knew a ring of fire flashed up around the property, then disappeared.
"Water..." Water rushed out of the creek, onto the property's ground. Then we heard her speaking in Latin.
Roughly translated, she said, "I am the Goddess Elemental. Heed my call and do my bidding. Earth, protect the homes herein. Air, protect the secrets herein. Fire, protect the training grounds herein. Water, protect the allies herein. Shield, protect the Goddess and her mates herein. So it is said. So shall it be done."
Shit, the same things that happened here, must have happened at both fields and La Push, too.
I heard the house phone ring, then Carlisle talking. It sounded like one of the elders by the way Carlisle spoke. He gave them a brief run-down of what he thought was happening, then told the person we were still not to be disturbed, so he would have us call the instant we let someone through the door.
Bella went stiff in my arms for a nanosecond, then went totally lax. She started stirring slightly, so I whispered, "Shh, Darlin'. Rest a second. You just pulled off major magic from here to La Push, if my guess is correct. I'll have Esme bring you something to drink. Shhh. Just rest."
I nodded to Peter. Before he could get out of the room, Esme was at the door with a huge cup and straw.
Ahh, I didn't hear the blender while I was keeping such a close eye on our sweet little mate.
"Here's her smoothie. The halibut will be ready in less than five minutes. Please call Sam as soon as she feels up to it," Esme whispered softly. I nodded, then she shut the door silently on her way back to the kitchen.
BPOV:
I whispered hoarsely just as the door closed, "Thank you, Esme."
Jasper whispered that she said to think nothing of it. I took a small sip of my smoothie, which was so fucking good. I sucked half of it down in no time at all, then whispered softly, "I need to call an emergency meeting with the elders and Charlie. When I explain to Jacob, all the rest of the wolves will know through the mind link. Please call Sam."
Peter took my phone to dial Sam's number. He handed the phone to me, and Sam answered right away. "Sam, it's Bella. Please just listen for right now. I'll explain everything. I know some freaky shit went down tonight on the rez. It also happened in both fields, here, the Texas property, and Charlie's. I did all of that for a reason. I'm calling an emergency meeting right now.”
I heard his muffled voice talking in the background for a second, then continued. “Shit's gonna get heavy, and quick. I'm not strong enough to head over to the rez right now, so I need you to gather all of the elders and Charlie. Bring them to the Cullen main house. The wolves not here will get everything through the mind link. I mean it Sam, this is the most important thing I've ever said to you."
He replied, "I believe you, Sister. I'll make the calls. I think your dad stayed at Sue's tonight anyway. That'll save a stop. We'll be there as soon as we can. We're coming straight there. Rest until we get there, please."
He hung up, so I flipped my phone shut. Esme came in with my halibut, which smelled amazing. I handed her my now almost-empty cup of smoothie, asking hopefully, "Is there any more?"
She smiled widely, "I'll be back right away."
I thanked her as I turned around. I sat with my back against Jasper, my ass between his legs, then took my plate from Peter with a small smile, "Thank you all. I know what you did, and I hope you know how much it meant to me. I'll need to do this again every once in awhile to renew the protections, but I won't have to truly sleep to do it. I can do it in meditation, or wide awake for that matter. I need to eat this amazing smelling food now, but we'll get into everything that happened when everyone gets here. Someone needs to make sure our four wolves come in, but they need to stay in wolf form for the mind link. They can patrol inside the yard's treeline for now... the rest of the property is covered by my mojo."
Just then, Esme walked in the room with more smoothie goodness. "I'll tell Jake to bring them in... he's been close since he brought in the deer for Jasper."
I nodded, then dug into the nut encrusted halibut. It was so awesome. I moaned through the bite in my mouth, telling Esme, "I'd kiss the cook, Esme, but the fish is too damn good to wait for even that. So so good. Thank you."
She gave me a blindingly bright smile, "Us girls have been preparing you things since they brought the deer and donated blood. We figured you'd be hungry once you did what needed to be done. We have another one ready to go on in case you want it... you just let me know."
I nodded, then voiced my thoughts. "Can you please have that, another smoothie, plus a small amount of caviar and crackers available downstairs for me in about 15 minutes? I'll be talking with everyone where we did earlier. That'll save from the pack from having to squeeze through doors in wolf form. Do we have enough outdoor seating for everyone? If so, that might make it more comfortable for everyone. I'd rather no one had to sit on wet grass in the middle of the night. It's probably uncomfortable for you, and the elders may get sick sitting in it too long."
She nodded, "We have a few trees that were downed and stripped for log benches. We were going to make a fire pit outside at one point. I'll have the boys bring them up near the back steps."
I swallowed the mouthful of food, then offered, "Thanks, Esme... and tell the girls thank you for me too, please."
She nodded and left quietly, closing the door behind her. I finished my smoothie and halibut, then went to crawl out of bed. I fell forward as soon as I put any weight on my limbs. Peter and Char both grabbed me at the same time, so I giggled. "I guess I'm not completely over my clumsiness, am I?"
Peter scowled, "That wasn't clumsiness, Kitten, and ya know it. You're too weak. Ya won't be walkin' on your own until after ya've regained your strength. Now what were ya tryin' to do?"
I pointed to the bathroom without a word. He picked me up, then rushed me in to take care of my needs. I washed my hands when I was through, before Peter took me back into the bedroom.
He held me near the end of the bed, "I'm sorry guys... I didn't know I was that weak. If I had, I wouldn't have attempted to get up. We need to get downstairs soon. There's a lot to cover, plus I still need more food and to draw energy."
They nodded as Peter wrapped my legs around his waist. I snuggled into his chest while we walked down the stairs. We didn't even make it to the kitchen before Esme was bringing out a tray of food for me. On it, was a plate with my halibut and some sugar snap peas, a small bowl of caviar, a bowl of crackers, as well as another huge smoothie. I thanked Esme and the girls aloud, then heard a chorus of 'You're welcome' from everyone.
We made our way outside, then Peter asked, "Would ya like to draw or eat first, Little One?"
I pointed to the food, "Eat first. I need to ask the elders a question before I draw to be safe.”
He nodded, then we sat down on the steps like I did with Jasper.
Everyone started filling in on the log benches. When the elders rushed to the back yard, Charlie and Sue came right to me. He dropped to his knees, hugging me tight to him while whispering, "I'm so glad you're okay. I was awake when it happened at the rez. Sue was immediately on a phone chain with the other elders, then Sam called here to find out about you. Thank you for letting me be a part of this meeting."
I nodded as I said softly, "You're my dad... of course I want you to be here. It also involved your property, too, and the training fields. I'll explain it all, but I need to eat and draw energy first. I'm too weak yet. Sue can you have the other elders come over please? My voice isn't strong enough to carry."
Sue looked at the elders, then waved them over. They came immediately, with Sam asking, "What can we do for you, Sister?"
I turned to Sam slowly, "I need to know if I can draw energy, then transfer it to my mates. They fed right before they helped me, but I still needed to draw a lot of energy from them. Can I replace it?"
Quil answered, "Yes, but you must give them only their elements' energy. Air replaces air, and so on. You also must be at your normal level before you draw for them. I see you are extremely weak now. Draw for yourself, then you can replenish your mates. Do not speak to anyone else until after you've eaten everything on the tray and replenished the four of you. The energy is seeping out of you like a sieve. Find the leak, and repair it when you draw for yourself."
I nodded as began to eat. The elders and my dad all sat with my vampire family, silently waiting while I ate. Quil explained what was happening, so they all had quiet looks of concern on their faces.
Soon, I had finished every morsel on my plate, so I looked at Peter. I nodded, then he carried my down into the grass closest to us, which happened to be in full view of everyone. He helped me get in my lotus position, then stepped back as I placed my hands in the grass.
I closed my eyes, finding the leak immediately. The site made me gasp. There was a tear along one whole side of my energy center.
I knew I needed my mate's venom to heal it. I still had a small amount of my smoothie left, but that wouldn't work. I needed coffee. I spoke aloud softly with my eyes closed, focusing on the tear in my energy center, "I need coffee quickly, plus you need to add your venoms. A teaspoon of each should do. I need this quickly, so use the fancy single serve machine, please. There's a tear all the way down one side of my energy center. I need the venoms to heal it, because I can't do it on my own."
I heard a few gasps through the crowd, but no one said anything. "I'll also need another smoothie with as many apples, raspberries, peaches, coconut and mangoes as you can squeeze into it, Make sure to add chocolate, fresh ground cinnamon, and vanilla. I need that and my liqueurs for after."
Someone whooshed by me into the house. Quickly, I felt Jasper handing me a hot cup, "Darlin', this has our venoms in it, so you should be set."
I shook my head, "No, you three need to trace. Get a blanket for me to lay on. We need to do it here, in the open. Coat heavily and keep them coated. Don't stop tracing until I open my eyes. You need to rip the bottom of my shirt to have enough room."
I could here him agree, then I was quickly placed on a soft blanket. I felt my way to my stomach, resting my weight on my elbows. "When the last drop is gone and I rest my head on my arms, started coating and tracing... no special order, but the scroll border is what you need to trace."
I felt each of them position over me, then I began drinking. I drank the whole cup quickly, then placed the coffee cup in front of me. I laid my arms out in front of me on the grass and rested my head. As soon as I did, I felt their venoms coating my spine. They began to trace, so I concentrated everything on the tear.
I mentally touched my fingers gently on either side of the tear. It fluttered weakly. I pulled the seams of it together, then licked my way from the bottom to the top, picturing the venom healing it as I went. It wasn't strong enough, "More venom. Need a lot more."
I kept licking and slowly I felt the venom on my spine being tripled. It helped me picture the venom more easily. Slowly the tear started healing as I licked and held together the seams. It knitted itself tightly together, the venom sealing it to make it strong.
When the repair was done, I stopped concentrating on the tear and went to open my eyes, but an orgasm wracked through every single cell in my body.
Holy. Fuck. Me! Unngh!
I cried out wordlessly as the waves rolled over me. Right. In. Front. Of. Everyone.
Well isn't that wonderful. Just fucking peachy.
When I was able to open my eyes, they stopped tracing, then gently wiped my back to remove their venom. Peter breathed, "I know that wasn't expected, Kitten. Are ya okay or would ya like Jasper's help?"
I spoke the one word that was going to get me to face everyone right now, as I knew no one had moved a muscle from their spots. I breathed to Peter, "Confidence."
He nodded while looking at Jasper. I needed to draw energy first, so I had Peter pick me up off the blanket. He helped me into my lotus position again, making sure to preserve my modesty... not that there was much left. I was much weaker than when I started, with all the energy spent repairing my energy center.
My hands fell to the grass. I felt the earth's energy pulsing, then started drawing. I concentrated on my normal level, the energy rushing into at an incredible speed. I was so drained, that it took longer than normal to draw.
When I was done, I felt much better. I placed my hands on my knees, and felt the confidence blanket me from Jasper.
I opened my eyes before saying softly, "Sorry about the side effect of the tracing. They had to coat me in a lot more venom than when we're even in private... hence the side effect. If I would have known, I would have warned you, so that you didn't have to witness it. To answer the unspoken question, that happens every time they heavily coat my elements and trace or lick. They are very sensitive to my mates' venom."
Charlie was blushing slightly, but thankfully, he was keeping a level head.
I looked to my mates. "I need each of you to sit down with a little space between you. I'll need to be knee to knee with you when I replenish your energy. You'll need to send me the person's level right before tonight's mojo, so I can get a feel of how much to replace. We'll go in order."
I sat in front of Jasper with my knees touching his in the lotus position, then placed my hands on his knees. He sent me his energy level, I nodded, then closed my eyes. I felt the energy in the air, and immediately my hands went into a V above me.
I placed one hand on Jasper's abdomen where his center was located while concentrating on his level. I whispered, "Air... replenish," then energy rushed through me into Jasper. I kept a close eye on his level. When it was replenished, my hand went back into the air. I put back any of the air energy that hadn't been used, causing a soft breeze to whisper through the yard.
My hands dropped to my knees as I opened my eyes, "How do you feel now, Cowboy?"
He smiled a blinding smile at me, "As good as right after I fed. Not a single difference. Thank you, Darlin'."
He kissed me softly, then I moved to in front of Peter in the same position. Quickly I said, "Esme? Is there a certain thing in the back yard that you don't want saved? I have a feeling the extra energy being released will cause something to burst into flames. I can replace whatever it is with something new, like Sue's nasty bush being replaced with hydrangeas."
She smiled, "How about the group of ornamental grass right there? Can we replace it with Bearded Irises?"
I smiled widely, "Sure can, Esme. They'll look really pretty there. Mixed color or one shade?" She said mixed, so I nodded.
I focused, then nodded to Jasper. I placed my hands on Peter's knees to feel his pre-mojo energy level. I found fire energy from the bonfire, then instantly, my arms partially went out, my hands looking like they were warming at a fireplace. One hand left that position to be placed on Peter's abdomen. I drew energy, letting it flow through me to Peter while saying, “Fire, replenish.”
When his energy level was good, I halted the flow, then opened my eyes. I positioned myself between the crowd and the ornamental grasses. The excess fire energy was released, and the grass ashed in seconds. I drew up a small amount of earth energy, then made the Bearded Irises bloom. They were beautiful.
As I walked back over toward Char, I said to Esme, "They will be watered with the excess energy from Char."
I sat in the same position in front of her, then placed my hands on her knees and nodded to Jasper. I got the feel for her energy level, then closed my eyes. I felt the water energy flowing in the creek with my hands cradled in front of me, then one went to Char's abdomen. I let it rush through me into Char. “Water, replenish.”
When her level was reached, I walked back over between the crowd and Irises. I sensed the creek again, using the energy to float water from the creek to gently rain down on the Irises. When the flowers were watered, my energy was at normal level, so I went to sit between Peter's legs.
Jasper filled the glass for my liqueurs, so I drank them one after the other. He handed me the smoothie, then I drank a couple big sips of that. So good.
