The Consequences of Messing With A Whitlock

Chapter 7:
Alice and I immediately jumped right in. Soon we had the family room, living room, study, and theater sets all complete. We had also found all of the furniture for the downstairs public areas, the four couples' rooms, and one set of singles. We were working on the other set of singles, when suddenly I heard an alarm go off. I was instantly clutching at Captain's chest, curling into him as he cooed, "Hush, my little Kitten. It's only the perimeter sensor. It's about time for our first guests to be here. That's why we asked them to give us a timeline." I nodded stiffly into his chest, then he said, "Major, the panel in here's right there on the wall. Tell them you'll meet them down at the gate to bring them up. Do what ya hafta do."
Captain tried to redirect my attention by asking me softly, "Will ya help me pick out a set for our room? I noticed ya hadn't picked one out for ours or the room you're staying in now." I nodded, "I don't really know if I want to stay in that room. I don't like when I'm not in your arms right now, but it doesn't seem right to have you hold me in the guest room all the time. I just don't..."
He cut me off with a kiss to my temple, then my cheek as he tilted my head up to look at him, "Remember what I said earlier? I know what ya were gonna say. I also know ya aren't ready for that. You’re the leader here, Isablella. I will follow where ya lead me. Ya movin' into our room is just that... sharin' a space with me. When ya wanna make it more than that, you'll need to let me know." I kissed over his heart several times, then whispered, "Let's look for a set for our room."
Just as we both spotted a really pretty canopy bed set, Captain's phone vibrated. He picked it up, saying, "Pull that one up, Kitten. This'll be Major." He answered his phone as I pulled up the page looking at the detail photos, then Captain agreed with something Major said before flipping his phone shut. "Isabella, Major says Nate and Kota passed the test, so he's on his way in with them. As for our room, I like that one. It's not too fancy, plus if we can get Ali to do the right type of drape things on it, you'll still have that close feelin' ya like. I can lay there with ya in my arms, so ya can just let the world slip away." I smiled as I kissed his neck, "I really like it too. Did you see the close ups? It has enough detail not to be too plain, and I like the high panel back in a darker color." He kissed my shoulder a few times, saying, "I did and I agree. I think this is the set for us."
As soon as he got done adding it to the running order, I heard the door open. I curled into Captain as he cooed, "It's alright, Sweet Girl. Just stay right here in my arms. They've already gotten your scent from a shirt of yours that Major took out with him. Neither one of them has a draw to it if Major let them in the gate." I nodded, pressing my cheek to his chest. His fingers ghosted up my back, then he kissed my shoulder as Major directed two new people to stand near the fireplace, so that I could see them. They did immediately, then I saw they were both looking down at me with soft smiles.
They didn't look scary or give me a bad feeling, so after a few minutes of taking them both in, I sat up slightly. "Hello. Thank you for coming so soon." The female spoke, "Hi, Bella. My name's Dakota, and this lug here is my mate, Nathaniel. Crew call us Kota and Nate, though. It's just easier than the mouthfuls we were born with." That made me chuckle as I nodded, "Don't I know it. My first name alone has four syllables. It was a pain in the ass on the rare occasions I got full-named by my dad. My dad's not a big talker, so him taking the time to say all seven damn syllables of my name in one sentence... well, I knew I was in for it then."
Just like that, the whole room erupted in chuckles, which broke the tension. Nate said after the chuckles died down, "Kota and I wanted to come meet you, but we offered to take perimeter duty in about half an hour. Major said the alarm got to you. We offered to take up post, so that it wouldn't go off again. If you don't mind, he said he could seal up your shirt in a Ziploc bag, which would allow us to test the next ones coming in." I shook my head, "I don't mind at all. It's a good idea. Thank you for offering to take perimeter, too." They both smiled widely at me, then Alice said, "Major, we've gotten good headway on the furniture. Most of it can be picked up right away. I've put a hold on it, but I would like your permission to go with at least two others when we have enough of the crew here."
Major thought for a second, then said, "I'll allow it, since ya know I won't be leavin' Captain and Isabella, but you're waitin' until there are at least 5 of the crew here. You're gonna need to take the trailer and truck, right?" Alice nodded, then said, "Ya know what needs to be done. I don't want there to be any reason I can't get a hold of ya, Mary Alice." Alice nodded, pecked his lips lightly, then said, "Of course, Major." She flipped her phone open, then smiled showing Major, "Full battery."
Major kissed her cheek as he touched the pretty jeweled bracelet she always wore, then said, "Alright. Now, Little Miss over there lookin' all comfy is gonna need her injections soon, then we need to think about workin' her shoulder a bit. Ya got any suggestions, Nate?" He smiled, then asked Major a few questions, saying, "With Captain's permission, I'd like to look at her shoulder after she's had her injections. It would help if I could put her shoulder through a few rotations, to see where her problem areas are. Even though she won't feel it, with being on the meds, I'll be able to tell by how it moves compared to her other shoulder." Captain nodded, "Ya know the rules, Nate, so I won't go over ‘em again. Just know that I'll be right there, so if ya step outta line, I'll have your head."
Alice had fixed me a really big lunch, for which I was thankful (even though it was only 10 am), Major gave Captain my loaded injections when I was almost through eating. I knew he wanted to give them to me right away, so I kissed over his heart as I turned to get into position. He gave them to me as he cooed sweet nothings to me to distract me, then I finished my lunch. I took several minutes to relax curled against Captain's chest when I was done, then said softly against his heart, "I'm ready when you are."
He kissed along my neck and shoulder for a minute, making me hum in pleasure, Major chuckled, "Sugar Plum, ya can't purr before your change." Captain redoubled his kisses at that, which only made me hum more. They all chuckled, then Captain lightly nipped the juncture of my neck and shoulder, saying, "I'll remember that. Come on, so we can getcha back to 100%." Ali chose to take Nate's spot on perimeter, with Major's permission, as Captain helped me stand so that Nate could take a look at me.
Come to find out, Nate was a private physical therapist... a damn good one, too. He worked my shoulder and arm for the next hour. Just as Major's phone vibrated, Nate said, "Leave the sling off for a while. I want Major to get a feel for your pain level the next time you should have your injections. If the pain and stiffness are less, we'll let you go through the whole dose, then work your shoulder again on the next round. If all goes well, we should have you tossing that sling in the garbage before tomorrow morning."
Captain smiled widely at that, then clapped Nate on the shoulder. He was going to say something, but Nate shook his head, "No need, Captain. You've saved mine and Kota's asses more than once. It was the least I could do." Major kissed my forehead, "How are ya doin', Sugar Plum?" I smiled up at him, then hugged him, "Good. Nate's fixing me right up. He says he might be able to get me out of the sling completely by morning. Did some of the others arrive?" He nodded, "Sure did. Stefan and Damon ended up racin' for the last thirty minutes here, so they passed Adrianna and Micha on the way. That put them here an hour early. You gonna be okay meetin' so many at once?" I looked up at Captain smiling, "Yep. My man will help keep me calm. Plus, it's just the first look... like when we met the nomads in the clearing. James creeped me out before he even caught my scent on the breeze."
Both Major and Captain growled, so I pulled Captain up behind me as I continued to hug Major, "I'm fine, I'm right here. You took him and that whole damn studio out, Major. He can't hurt me anymore. You protected me better than any big brother on the planet. There's no chance of him ever hurting anyone again." Nate looked at me questioningly, so I asked, "The crew didn't get the whole story, did they, Major?"
Their growls calmed as Major shook his head. “Only that there was trouble. Didn't get into a bunch of detail.” I looked to Nate saying, "Now's not the time, as you can see. When the whole crew is here, so they can both be close to me to make sure I'm okay, then I'll tell everyone the whole story. It's a total shit-storm of a mess. That was the start of why you're here in some ways." Nate just nodded as Alice called from the doorway, "We're here." Major took command again, telling them to line up where I could see them, but not to get too close.
Once introductions were done, Nate and Kota offered to go with Alice to pick up the furniture, then I remembered we hadn't picked up the last two single sets. I asked her to pick them while she was out, then she asked if I minded her getting her set, too. I chuckled shaking my head, "You probably already know what I would have picked, so go ahead. At least I'll know you like it this way." I turned to Captain then, asking, "Do you need to give her your card?" He chuckled hugging me to him, "No, My Sweet Li'l Mate. She already has it from earlier."
I was starting to get sleepy again. Captain must have noticed, because he whispered into my neck, "You should rest, Isabella. Please don't fight sleepin'." I nodded, "Okay, but can I just lay against you on the couch? I don't want to lay down in the room, and they just got here. You can talk with all of them still if we stay out here."
Captain picked me up, wrapping me around him, then carried me over to the couch. When he sat, I shifted my legs. Captain slipped off my shoes before grabbing the throw from the back of the couch. He turned to lean back against the armrest as I settled with my face in his neck. Alice placed the throw blanket over me, then Captain started stroking my spine. It didn't take long after their soft conversation started, that I was drifting off to sleep.
"She's a beauty, Captain, truly. Have you told her everything?" There was a new voice. I felt Captain shake his head while whispering, "I didn't have the chance. She fell asleep before I could when I was tellin' her about myself, then she woke screamin' from that damn nightmare. Everything's been kinda crazy since then." The other voice, which was female, said, "I'll let the crew know, so that nothing slips before you have the chance to tell her. She should hear as much as possible about mating and a vampire's lifestyle from her mate."
Captain nodded into my shoulder, kissing it then said, "Thanks, Jade. I just don't even know how to start a conversation like that with her after what's happened. I can't lie to her, though. It would crush her, along with any chance I have with her... especially after everything she's been through. She'll definitely reject the bond if that happens." Captain kissed my shoulder, hugging me tighter to him before saying in an almost inaudible breath, "I haven't even kissed her yet, but already I know I can't exist without her. It would kill me if she rejected the bond."
I must have dozed off again, because the next thing I registered was Captain kissing up along my shoulder and neck, causing me to hum in pleasure. Then Jasper chuckled, "Now see? There she goes tryin' to purr again before her change. What are we gonna do with her, Ali?" Alice giggled, "It's cute, Major. At least we know her vampire instincts are working under that still-fragile facade. I told you, she was born to be a vampire." Captain hummed into my neck, "Yes, my mate was definitely born to be a vampire. Now, my pleased li'l Kitten... are ya ready to wake for me? You've been asleep for quite a while. It's time to get your injections then have Nate work on your shoulder again."
My shoulder was sore, but there was no pain. God, it felt so much better. Wait... did he say it was time for Nate to work on it again already? "Umm... Honey? I thought we were waiting a whole cycle before Nate worked on me again?" He chuckled, kissing my neck once more, then said, "We did, My Sweet. Ya slept right through your last set. We tried to wake ya, but ya barely even shifted on top of me. It's almost 5:30 now, so I'd like ya to eat somethin' substantial for me before your shots." I nodded, then kissed over his heart before sitting up while rubbing my eyes.
My shirt rode up as I stretched, making Captain humm as he swirled his finger around my navel, "Mhmm... I told ya that was gonna be sexy." My breath hitched at the feeling mid-stretch, so I looked down at him. His eyes met mine, and I swear I could see the desire in them. They seemed to be practically swirling with it.
It was at that moment I realised that Peter/Captain really did want me. He wanted all of me. He wanted to love me, protect me, care for me… but he also truly wanted me in his bed. He was the gentleman when I needed him to be, but there was no mistaking the look in his eyes that said he wanted nothing more than to strip me down and ravish me thoroughly.
I bit my lip at the realisation, causing Captain to sit up, then breathe in my ear, "Ya can't be doin' that anytime soon, Kitten. Ya don't know what ya bitin' that lip does to me." He nipped my neck as I breathed, "I know now, Captain. I know, I'm ready, as long as we go slow." I heard his gasp, then suddenly he was looking deep into my eyes. Without a word, he must have found what he was looking for, because the most beautiful smile broke out onto his face. He kissed my forehead, nose, and both cheeks, then said, "Ya just made me the happiest vampire alive, My Perfect Li'l Mate." I brushed my fingers over the slight crinkles at his eyes, saying with a grin, "If that beautiful smile is what I get when you're happy, then I'm making my life's work to keep you happy 24/7."
I heard several awe's and murmurs then, which broke me out of my little 'Peter only' bubble. I ducked my head into his neck as I blushed, chuckling, "Shit... sorry, guys. I forgot everyone was in the room for a minute there." Alice chuckled as she patted my back, "Don't worry, Baby Girl. Major and Jasper do that to me all the time. It's a mate thing. Now here... eat up, so you can get your injections done and have your shoulder worked on. Derrick also wants to look at your tattoo to see how it's coming along."
It ended up being Derrick and Jade that had shown up while I was asleep, which meant that we were only missing Coop, Ang, Char and Aaron. I got to talk to everyone while I ate. I really started to like them all. They were a lot more laid back than the Cullens. God, was that a relief. They even seemed excited about helping put furniture in, which reminded me about the bedding. "Awe, shit, Ali. Why didn't you remind me? We picked out all those bedroom sets, but now I don't even have bedding for the damn things. I wanted to get really ni-"
She chuckled as she bowed dramatically, then said, "Yes, I know. Really nice quilt sets to put on each one... not those horrendous bed-in-a bag things. I picked them up while I was out. None of the furniture has been put in rooms yet, though, since you need to pick which rooms are doubling. I know you wanted to supervise, too." I let a breath out, "Thanks, Ali. What would I do without you?" She shivered slightly, then gave me a mock look of horror, "Oh, no. That's a really bad thought. Lets just not talk about it, since you'll never have to find out." Everyone laughed, then we all chatted happily until I was done eating.
