Elemental Goddess

Chapter 28: Danger!
BPOV:
I sat up a bit. Peter kissed me slowly, lovingly, but with a twinge of need. I knew it had been since before we left Texas that any of us had been intimate, which was saying something. We never went that long. When the kiss ended, I leaned my forehead against his, whispering, “I know... I feel it too. We'll be together just as soon as Char puts me through a workout. You and Jasper need to watch to make sure I don't do too much... Jasper through my feelings, while you watch my expressions and physical being. As soon as we're done, we can be together. I know Char wants some time with Jasper, too. I'd like for us all to be in the same room, though. I need the closeness.”
He nodded before kissing me again. I let my tongue trace his bottom lip, then he opened to me with a moan. We kissed slowly, but the feeling of need was ever-present. I sensed that we were close, so I nuzzled back in, breathing his scent into my every cell as he traced my spine with his fingertips.
As soon as we turned down the drive, I lifted my head to kiss his cheek. “I love you, My Peter.”
He smiled as he kissed my cheek, “I love ya too, Little One. Are ya ready for this?”
I laughed, smirking, “I'm all over this... don't you worry, Baby.”
The three of them laughed, then we soon came to a stop at the cabin. Peter and Jasper got out to do a perimeter check while Char sat with me.
I kissed her lovingly, so she smiled, “I know you've got a lot going on, Sweetness. How are you?”
I looked at her knowing what she needed to hear, feeling every word of it, “Happy that my mates are with me and safe. Worried about all that's yet to happen. Ready to face the Cullens' self righteous asses, give them more than a small piece of my mind. Eager to train with the wolves and have you put me through as much yoga as you can. Uncertain about seeing my dad, as I don't know what all Sue told him. Scared of who we could lose in the battle. Most of all I'm calm. I know what I need to know right now, plus the goddess in me is strong. I feel it more strongly with every name that appears. I know mine and Jasper's is already there. When yours appears, the goddess will be full force. I will be the goddess full time, but my powers won't be complete until I have been turned. I'll know when the time is right. I'll know that it's time to finally be with my mates for eternity. I'm feeling good right now... centered from the meditation, but a little hungry again.”
She laughed. “You're feeling quite a lot Sweetness, but thanks for telling me. We'll work on letting those feelings sort themselves out through different positions and transitions.”
Jasper returned with Peter just then, giving us the all clear. We entered the cabin, then got a few windows open to air it out. We loaded the food into the fridge, but I kept a bowl of fruit and two bags of chocolate out. I grabbed a thermos of almond milk and a banana, then sat down at the small table with all my food. “Jazz, do you know where the caramel candies went to?”
He disappeared, returning with a bag of my candy chews. “Thanks, Cowboy. I'm going to scarf this food down while you guys get us settled in. Then it's time to clear a spot for yoga.”
They all nodded, then Peter and Char went to unpack their stuff.
Jasper picked me up, then sat down with me in his lap. I ate while he nuzzled my neck. “It was amazing seeing my name write itself onto your glorious skin, Darlin'. I can't tell you what it did to me.”
I smiled around the bite of fruit in my mouth. “You don't have to... I felt it. It was like your very soul was what imprinted itself on my skin. When it finished, I told you I loved you, then I felt the biggest burst of love from you.”
I placed my hand over his still heart, sending him all the love I had for him. He purred into my neck, which made me smile.
I continued to eat after that, but soon it was time to let Char teach me yoga positions. She made me do some beginner moves just to help me stretch my muscles a little and warm up. Then she put me through all of the intermediate and advanced moves that were standard. My favorites were the Bird of Paradise, the One-legged King Pigeon, the Compass, the Side Crow, the Scorpion, the Lotus, the Plow, and the Goddess positions.
She asked so I told her them, then she taught me a couple of ways to transition from one to the other. We did a couple of rotations. I felt better with each one. I felt really good by the time we finished, but wanted to be close to Peter. I needed a shower first, though.
I walked over to Peter, kissed his chest, then he licked behind my ear, purring. “Eww. I'm all yucky,” I half whined.
He laughed as he said, “Your skin has never tasted sweeter, Kitten.”
I laughed. “I need a shower, then I want to be close to you. Give me 5 minutes to wash up.”
I hurried to the shower, washed with my new custom scented body wash that smelled like all of us. The shampoo and conditioner bottles I picked smelled the same way. They were labeled with the scent combinations. Thank Goddess the shower was huge, because there was a shit-ton of bottles in the shower.
I think we needed a large pick-and-choose dispenser for the scents... so that I could just push two or three buttons and out would come the shower gel or shampoo. Then I could mix them in my hands before I applied it. That would save a ton of room in the shower.
I finished showering, took care of my other necessities, braided my hair quickly, then walked into the bedroom with my huge dark towel wrapped around me. They were all in the bedroom waiting for me. I smiled at my mates cuddled on the bed. The king sized bed made it easier for us to all be cuddled together. I would hate to see us on anything less.
Peter was on the side closest to me, holding his arms out. They had already stripped down, so they weren't any more dressed than I was.
I crawled into his arms as he inhaled my scent. I could tell he wanted to taste me again, and I didn't mind. He did, then made sweet love to me. It wasn't rough or heated to the point of scorching, but it was perfect in its own way. The soft touches and whispers into each others skin was like we were ingraining ourselves into the others bones.
When we connected, I felt it in my every cell. I knew that even though I wasn't paying attention to Jasper and Char, they were going through the same things. Our attention was solely on the partner we were with. When we came, it was with sighs and whimpers, soft rolling waves of orgasms, and total rightness.
I straddled and wrapped myself around Jasper after we had all cuddled together for a few minutes. I nuzzled into his neck before whispering, “I'm ready. I need to rest again.”
He kissed me softly, then said, “Snuggle in, Darlin'. I'll hold you tight the whole time.”
I felt the gentleness that he sent the feelings to me with. He wasn't pushing them at me. It was almost like he was projecting them, then they settled around me, blanketing me. It felt really peaceful. They took effect quickly as I felt him trace my elemental design.
CPOV:
She was resting again. I had a feeling I knew why. “I think she needs to be resting when her design adds the names. I think that's what's going to happen now. I think Peter's name will appear before she comes to again.”
They both nodded at me as Jasper continued to trace her beautiful mark. He spoke softly as to not disturb her. “The Cullens should arrive soon. I may not be able to go greet them. She may still be meditating. I won't disturb her if she is. I'd hate to find out what would happen if she was jolted out of her meditation. It could be very bad.”
Peter spoke up, “We'll take care of it if she is. You're right not to want her moved or brought out prematurely.”
We were all cuddling quietly when we felt a shift in the air. We looked at her design at the same time, watching as the vine scroll work around Peter's element grew, writing his name on her skin. He looked like he could cry, and I knew I would feel the same when my name appeared. Our names would be on our sweet little mate's skin for eternity... for all the world to see.
I cuddled closer to him. “It's so beautiful.” He smiled down at me with venom-filled eyes, nodding his agreement.
As soon as the design completed and the luminescent glow faded, she bolted out of her sleep state, ordering quickly, “Get dressed fast, we have incoming. Less than three minutes. We need to be there. Now!”
We all rushed to get dressed. Jasper carried her, but as soon as we got to the front of the main house, she dropped to the ground. She rushed in front of all of us. I felt the wind shift as her colorfully marbled shield encompassed us.
BPOV:
I didn't pay attention to what was going on around me when I meditated this time. I knew deep down that it was time for Peter's name to appear, so I concentrated on preparing myself for his name to be worked into my skin.
As soon as his name was complete, my instincts shouted 'Danger' and I looked for the source. I sensed several vampires coming in fast. I needed to face the threat head on. I bolted up out of my meditation, getting dressed and the necessities put to right, as I ordered them to do the same. They rushed into action, then Jasper carried me to the front yard.
As soon as he stopped, I dropped to the ground, getting in position in front of them. My shield automatically came up to encompassed the four of us. “My back... hands on your elements. Hurry!”
I immediately felt three hands on my spine, then took several deep breaths as I centered myself. I closed my eyes to search, but they popped right back open as the threat came into view.
My hands came up in front of me in a V formation, similar to if I was cupping water in them. The four elements cycled into view. Earth, Air, Fire, Water. Then it repeated, and kept repeating. It wouldn't settle on one until it knew what the threat was.
Two large SUVs stopped 50 yards from us, but no one got out. I spoke in a clear strong voice... the goddess in me showing her strength for all to see, “Get out of the vehicle slowly, and do not attempt anything stupid."
As the doors opened the wind shifted toward us, then I heard Jasper, “Carlisle, Esme, Alice, Edward, Eleazar, Carmen, Tanya, Irina, and Kate. I don't smell anyone unknown. It's only the Cullens and Eleazar's coven. There is no threat, Darlin'.”
He was trying to comfort me, but I said, “I still have warning alarms, Jazz. Let me do this until I feel we're safe. Please go with me.”
He voiced his agreement. My mates stood strong behind me, feeding me their strength. I saw all of the vampires slowly get out of the vehicles, move to the front, then line up with the leaders of each coven in the center, slightly ahead of the rest. They all dropped to a submissive position on their knees with their hands before them on the ground. They meant us no harm.
I didn't drop my shield, but let my hands fall as the elements dissipated. “You can rise. I will not harm you as long as you mean us no harm. Carlisle, Eleazar, step forward, please. You can bring the covens closer, but not closer than 20 feet from me.”
They brought the covens in, then stepped slightly in front of them. “The two of you may approach as close as my shield will allow. If you truly mean no harm, my shield will allow you to pass.”
They both came forward. Eleazar went first. He touched my shield like a caress while Jasper sent me his feelings. He was awed to be in my presence, truly meant no harm to me or my mates. He walked into my shield like it wasn't there. I asked him to stay where he was, then motioned for Carlisle to come forward. He caressed my shield, too, with Jasper sending me Carlisle's feelings. He was scared of what would happen, but knew he didn't mean me harm. He was worried about everything, but excited to learn about who and what I had become. He took a hesitant step forward; my shield let him through. He stepped next to Eleazar, then patted him on the back.
I spoke. I still felt something off in the front yard. “You can stand in front of me now. I'll speak with both of you, then I'll need to have all of the members of both covens do as you just did. If they mean me harm, my shield will sense it and not let them through. That person will not live to leave this yard. Do you agree to this? Yes or no.”
They both looked at each other, then at me. Carlisle spoke, “Bella, you are a vision. I would love to answer, but I will need to ask each member of the coven. If they don't agree to your terms, I can't force them.”
Eleazar agreed with Carlisle. “Well, let's ask them together, then.”
I stepped between them, facing the covens. I spoke in a clear voice. “They were able to pass my shield because they meant me no harm. If any of you mean me harm, my shield will not let you pass. If that happens you will not leave this yard alive. Do you all agree to try passing my shield? You will not be trusted near me or my mates until you do. Know that for certain.”
I heard every vampire in the clearing gasp at my statement other than my mates. They looked from one to the other, then all nodded their heads. “I can not accept that. I need you to accept verbally, please.”
They all agreed, so I stepped back between the two leaders, to face them once more. “They have all agreed of their own free will. You may speak with me now, but know that there is much I will not speak of... most of it until only trusted vampires are present. Eleazar, you may go first.”
He bowed his head to me. “Goddess, it is such a gift to finally be in your presence. I have searched for a very long time to find when you would arrive. When Alice told me you came to her in a vision, I was astounded. I knew immediately that I had to come to you. Please accept my knowledge and talents as your own while you have need of them. It is the least I can do.”
I lifted his chin, smiling softly. “You need not bow to me, Eleazar. I don't need worshipers. I need strong supernaturals that have pure hearts. We can not let anyone without a pure heart to be in our midst at this time. We will all perish if that happens. Now as for your gift, we will discuss this further in a few minutes. I thank you for the offer. Carlisle?”
He looked at me with a wide smile. “I am so glad you are safe, Daughter. I...”
I cut him off right there. He was pissing me off already. My eyes flared red as I spoke loud enough for everyone to hear, but in a steady unraised voice, “You lost any privilege to call me daughter the instant you decided to walk out of my life without a fucking word. You all up and disappeared, not saying goodbye or even screw you... just left. He left me in the fucking woods, Carlisle. The woods! How many times have all of you told me to stay out of the woods alone? Yet your son, your prized creation, left me in the woods... crying and bleeding. None of you have the right to call me family right now, so don't even fucking try."
I looked at all of the Cullen clan one by one, then closed my eyes to take a settling breath, feeling my eyes change again.
When I opened my eyes again, I said clearly, "Now if you have something else you'd like to say, go ahead. Otherwise, I want to get this show on the road.”
My shield was also pulsing by the time I finished my rant, but I didn't know how to stop it. I suddenly felt a wave of calm come through me at the point of Jasper's touch. I took a deep breath while soaking up the offered calm, then my shield stabilized. I sent him my emotional thanks, then Carlisle began. “I feel privileged that you are allowing me to even speak to you after my deplorable behavior. I can only hope in time you come to see us as family again. I have no excuse, and only did what Edward asked us to do for him.”
I spoke when he went silent. “Now is not the time for that discussion, as we have much to do and no time to do it in. We will speak on it at some point soon, Carlisle. Both of you please exit the shield, then stand at either side of it. Do not touch it as the others come forward.”
They both did as I asked, so I spoke to the remaining vampires. “I want the leaders' mates to come forward. After they have passed, I want one from each coven to come forward. Continue that way until you all have passed through the shield unharmed. Know that if one from either coven cannot pass through the shield, it will be dealt with immediately. The person will not live to leave this property. You may begin now.”
Eleazar's mate and Esme stepped forward together. I greeted them politely, then asked the mate her name. “I am Carmen. It is a pleasure to meet you, Diosa Pequeña.”
I nodded. I didn't take a lot of Spanish, but I instinctively knew she had said 'little goddess'. I motioned her forward. She glided her fingers against the shield, smiling. She took a breath, then stepped right through the shield. I asked her to step to the outside of her mate, and she complied quickly with a head nod and a smile.
I looked to Esme, motioning her forward. She did the same as Carmen, gliding her fingers across the shield, then stepping right through. She smiled sadly, then said, “I am sorry that we hurt you so. I hope in time you can forgive at least some of us.”
She looked to me with venom in her eyes. “Esme, it will take time and a lot of talking things out, but I'm not one to hold a grudge. Let it happen as it should. We will be fine in time. Please step to the outside of your mate now.”
She nodded with a whispered 'thank you,' then stepped to Carlisle's side.
The next two came forward. I asked the name of the one I didn't know. “I'm Kate. It's nice to meet you, Bella.”
I looked at Alice with a blank look, but called Kate forward. She did the same motion as Esme and Carmen had, then stepped through. I thanked her for cooperating, then asked her to step next to Carmen.
She complied, then I looked to Alice again. “Please don't speak. I know why you did what you did, why it had to be done that way, but you and I are not okay by any means.”
I heard Edward growl from his position, but I felt my eyes flare red as they connected with his, “Oh, shut the fuck up, Edward. Your growl doesn't scare me in the least. I could raise you to ash with a look. Don't. Fucking. Test. Me.”
I looked back at a whimpering Alice. “I'm not saying we'll never be okay, but don't try dragging me on shopping sprees or playing Bella Barbie. That shit ain't gonna fly with me now. I've changed a lot since you last saw me. Most of it I wanted to be able to talk to my best friend and sister about, but guess what... she disappeared on me without a goddamn word. We have more to work out than most of the Cullens, but it can be done. Just don't push.”
She nodded, then slowly touched my shield. She placed her cheek and hand up to it, then whispered, “I'm so sorry,” as she caressed it. She took a breath before walking through the shield.
Once she stepped next to Esme, I motioned for the next set. Again, I asked the name of the unknown. “I am Tanya. I am Kate and Irina's older sister. It is a pleasure to meet you.”
I motioned her forward, so she touched my shield softly. She smiled widely, passing right through. I directed her to stand next to Kate, then I looked to Emmett. He looked so sad. “No need for sadness Emmett. We'll be back to battling Rock Band in no time.”
He kissed my shield as he said, “No matter what, I love you. I didn't want to leave, but was outvoted.”
He walked through the shield, then I asked him to stand next to Alice.
The next two came forward, but the new vampire introduced herself without waiting for me to ask. Something isn't right with this one.
I couldn't tell what, so I sent Jasper my curiosity. He sent me a mix of excitement, completion, and then a tiny flicker of revenge. I immediately asked her to step forward. She tried to walk though my shield without touching it first, or acknowledging it in any way. My shield flared agrily in response, denying her access.
Instantly my hands were in a V with fire flaring dangerously up from my palms. She shrieked and tried to speak, but Eleazar and Carlisle both rushed to grab her arms. “Only hold her. I wish to know what I have done to warrant revenge coming from her feelings.”
She snarled at me, then spat, “You are the reason my Laurant is dead. She called him to do her a favor, but he never came back. I feel in my bones that he is dead. It's your fault. You should die a thousand slow deaths for the pain I have felt because of the loss of my mate.”
I stepped right in. “If he was truly your mate, he would have converted fully to the animal diet. When I killed him for threatening my mates and I, he had red eyes. Not gold or amber, or even a transitioning orange. Crimson red, Honey. I killed him, not Victoria. He pissed me off and was going to go after my mates to get to me. Don't try and tell me he was yours, because he wasn't. You may have loved him, but he was never your true mate. As for Victoria, I never did anything but breathe air, yet that bitch targets me. We already know that James and Victoria weren't true mates. He said so when he tortured and bit me... on fucking video camera, no less. He said he had no need for a mate. That he lived for the hunt and kill his game provided. Do you want to end up like her? Creating newborns to kill a human? Attracting unneeded attention?”
She growled, then spat, “Fuck you and your mates.”
The ground shook underneath us, the wind whipped through our hair, then Carlisle and Eleazar released her at my look. Rain clouds formed in the sky above us, lightning crackled at incredible speeds. I concentrated on her burning while whispering, “Fire.”
It flew from my hands, engulfing her in an instant. I heard the sisters crying for their lost sibling, while the rest of the vampires look on in shocked awe. I lifted my hands above my head, clapping them together with a thunder-like boom, then her ashes were all that was left. “I can either wash away the evidence of this happening, or give the ashes to you as her sisters. It is your choice.”
Tanya hugged Kate tight to her, studdering through her sobs, “I know you had to do this. We all agreed of our own free will, but the pain is great. We would like to keep the ashes, if you will allow us. I'm so sorry she did this. You did what you must to make sure no one harms you or your mates. We understand, but would like some time to grieve.”
I looked to Esme. “Please find something nice for the ashes to be put in, so that they can be given to Tanya. Tanya, you may have your time to grieve, but please do not leave the property. There is still much that needs to be done.”
She nodded, “Thank you, we know the boundary lines of the property and will not pass them.”
I waited silently as Esme brought a small urn. “If you wish it Tanya, I can make sure none of her ashes are missing. The breeze will bring them all to the urn.”
She nodded as Esme opened the lid. I blew gently into my hand, then held it above the ashes as I thought about them all making it into the urn safely. I opened my hand over the ashes face down, and a gentle breeze picked up. The ashes spiraled up lazily from the ground at the slight twirl of my finger, then traveled to the urn, depositing themselves into it gently, completely. Not one ash was missing. Esme replaced the lid when the breeze dissipated.
“It is done,” I said simply.
Tanya and Kate left the front yard with their sister's ashes, so I looked to Rosalie. She looked shaken to her core. “The only reason to have fear of me, is if you mean me or my mates harm, Rosalie. I will not harm you without the need to.”
She sobbed, “But I was such a bitch to you. A complete, utter, nasty...”
I cut her off gently, “Rosalie, I never hated you. I admired your strength to stand up for your family when you felt I was a threat. I was in awe of the love you share with Emmett. I envied your natural beauty, charisma, and character. Yes, you were a bitch, but it was when you were trying to make a point. I do not hold it against you in the least. I expected you would go... it hurt, but not as much as Emmett. His hurt more because we were so close.”
She looked up at me, whispering, “My leaving hurt? Why?”
I smiled sadly, “You were the older sister that never wants anything to do with her annoying little sibling. I bugged you, rubbed you the wrong way, but you were still a sister as much as Emmett was a brother. Now please, do not fear me.”
She came close to my shield, place both arms shoulder width apart, then slowly brought them to my shield as if in a hug before letting them fall to her sides again. She stepped through the shield easily. I told her we would talk more later, then asked her to step to Emmett's side.
Edward was all by himself now. I said, “Before you come forward, you should know that my scent is different from before. I need you to know this before you come up to the shield, because if you lose it, you will not be able to breach the shield. Do you still agree to be tested?”
Edward nodded sadly, then slowly walked forward, testing the air every few steps. When he was two feet from my shield, he stopped and breathed deeply, keeping his eyes open. I watched, but his eyes stayed gold. He smiled an incredible smile, “It's safe... the freesia and lilac are minute. It's still there, but buried deeply under so many other new scents. All wonderful smelling, but nothing to make me lose control.”
I motioned him forward as his features smoothed to normal. He gently caressed my shield for a good several minutes before he stepped through. As soon as he did, he dropped to his knees, bowing his head. “I'm so sorry for the pain I've caused. So very sorry. If you will allow it, when there is time, I wish to talk with you.”
I nodded, “Soon, but not right now. There's too much to do before I meet with the wolves. Please go stand with your mate.”
As soon as he passed back through my shield, it dissipated. I collapsed as soon as it did, but my mates all rushed to catch me.
Char ended up being the one to get me, so she carried me into the main house bridal-style. She had Peter rush to the cabin to get me my liqueurs, fruit, nuts, and anything else he could fit into one of the coolers. She sat on the overstuffed chair with me in her lap.
I wrapped myself around her, needing her scent. I breathed her in while feeling her trail my spine with her fingertips. Jasper sat on the arm of the chair next to us, knowing I would feel safer. I nuzzled my nose into Char's neck, then remained that way for a few moments. The silence in the room was deafening, but I needed something to eat before I spoke.
